Cheap Homemade Gift Ideas

Hey guys!
So this year, with moving and only working one serving job, I'm a little low on cash and can't afford to go out and buy Christmas presents. I wanted to make my roommate a scrap book, but even that requires so much money.. any low budget homemade gift ideas?
What is something your family does?

We make holiday tree ornaments out of . . . whatever. This year, mine were an English tuppence drilled on a drill press and then decorated with a little ribbon and garland.
Last year, I made teeny origami cranes out of gum wrappers and spray painted them gold and silver and sprinkled with glitter.
You can make bunches of 'em --CHEAP and creative!0 -
I helped my daughter make lavender eye pillows for the girls, super easy. Whatever type fabric, cut out, fill with rice and lavender and viola! For the men I used old flannel shirts and made hot packs. Sew together some fabric and fill with rice. If you google diy eye pillows you can find lots of instructions.0

Take up crochetting and make scarves and mittens (it works with knitting too, but I don't know how to knit).0

I also found this hand scrub recipe. It says you can use any essential oil so you could use something Christmas-y.

If you want to go the scrap book route you can buy kits that include everything apart from the actual photos. I did that when I first got into scrapbooking and it was pretty cheap and easy.0

No-sew throws.
You buy the fleece, you cut it, you tie some knots. It's soooo easy and cheap (cost of the fleece) and you can pick colors or patterns that suit the recipient of the gift. I personally prefer solid colors (chocolate brown and cream color together is nice), but some people are more funky and enjoy animal print or vibrant colors. Great for all ages.

A friend of mine also makes ornaments each year and it's sooooo rediculously easy. She buys clear glass balls and fills them with whatever! One year she did peacock feathers inside and I loved that. (just buy extra glass balls because every now and then she'd break one.)

Peppermint Body Butter:
4 c. coconut oil
1 TBSP peppermint extract
Whisk together, pour into candy molds and let harden. Place into refrigerator if needed.
I recommend using round or swirled candy molds, very simple with no hard edges. Coconut oil is solid under 75 degrees Fahrenheit. I generally refrigerate the molds, pop the little butters out, and place them into cellophane bags. They are excellent because they melt on skin and the coconut oil is an excellent moisturizer that crosses skins natural lipid barrier. You should be able to get coconut oil @ WalMart for under $5.00 and the peppermint extract for around $2.99. The yield is immense, and even guys seem to like the peppermint scent.0 -
