Do you worry about your cals (not going over) or just eat whatever helps you fight off your cold/flu?

when I'm sick, nothing sounds good :( but I try to stay under and eat comforting foods (soups and oatmeal are my "go to" when I'm sick). tons of fluids is good, for your health all around!

BRATS - Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast, Soup

And try to stay close to calorie goals but if not don't stress about it.

When Im sick, all I want is homemade chicken soup... in all of my muscle-aching agony, I will go to the store to get the carrots, onions, celery, fresh herbs, the whole roaster chicken, garlic..... and while the chicken is boiling and the veggies are prepped to create the stock, Im taking my hot shower...

I finish the soup when I come out (skim the stock), pull some of the meat out and ladle myself some soup....

My dessert is a big jug of water, my blanket all over me, and a big, thick pillow to drown my face in on the couch....

wow so i just saw this thread and coincidence i am sick with the cold today. I haven't left the house for the day and I feel just rotten. No energy to cook so i ate BAD today.. and i feel bad for doing it.
  • Campbells condensed chicken noodle soup- I recently switched to the kind that says healthy something on it- less salt, and adds tiny little carrot pieces. Then I have toast, I only keep light bread in the house (35-50 cals). I normally end up WAY under on calories for the day, but over on sodium (no one is perfect). When I am on the mend, I normally make whatever sounds best, that takes less than 20 minutes, I do a lot of milder rice dishes (instant and brown).
