What music motivates you in the gym?

I find that the right music motivates me when I am working out; however, I often find that choosing good workout music is difficult. So, I thought I would see what everyone else is listening to. right now I have a bunch of dubstep on my ipod, and it really gets me going: Flux Pavilion, Skrillex, Cookie Monsta, and Caspa to name a few.

You?

  • My list is sort of basic, but catchy; I need something I can focus on and something distracting.
    Katy Perry - TGIF
    Taio Cruz - Dynomite
Lmfao - sexy and I know it
Kevin something - let it rock
    DJ sammy - heaven
Third eye blind - semi charmed

    All catchy and "upbeat" :)
  • I've got some LMFAO, Usher, etc on my Ipod right now, and I love it, but it's getting old. I'd love some new stuff too. I like fast beat music.

The new Rihanna album is really upbeat and really motivates me! I also listen to Britney Spears (Break the Ice is excellent), Edward Maya, Kylie Minogue, *****cat Dolls, Robyn, etc.

I listen dance/trance music in radio edit versions if I want to be concious of the time (songs of 3..5 minutes) for example when I go to run (I started few time ago, so I do series of 3 mins) or full trance sets for long walkings (2 or 3 hours). Basically my bberry plays:

    - Dash Berlin, The New Daylight
    - Above and Beyond, Group Therapy
    - Armin Van Buuren, Mirage
    - Trance Around The World 400 (5 Dj Sets)
    - A State Of Trance 500 Buenos Aires (7 Dj Sets)
    - Clubland 16 and 17 Compilation (latest vols. sucks)
    - Clubland Classixx 1 and 2
    - Maxima FM compilation vol 12 and 11
    - Hugh Laurie, Let Them Talk (this is for stressed days, to calm down :p )
    - La Venganza Sera Terrible (for stressing days too, an argentinian radio show that uploads the episodes to the web :D )
  • i have a bunch of Armin Van Buren - nice!

I am not working out yet but will begin soon and have in the past. My exercise is mostly treadmill up until now. I have a playlist called Motivate. I'm an older person so my songs will sound dated, but my pace was fairly brisk, so these are the songs that have worked for me.

Black Eyed Peas - Let's Get It Started
Fall Out Boy - Dance, Dance
Stars and Stripes Forever - John Philip Sousa
Pushing Me Away - Linkin Park
    Numb - Linkin Park
I Just Want to Celebrate - Rare Earth
I've Seen All Good People - Yes
    Roundabout - Yes
    Venus - Bananarama
    Bitter Fingers - Elton John
One Night in Bangkok - Chess?
    YMCA - Village People
Gettin' Jiggy Wit It - Will Smith
    Break Down - Breaking Benjami
    Remedy - Seether
Who Let the Dogs Out - Baha Men

I could go on, but don't want to hog. Maybe some of the older folks will like my suggestions.
