Today is my first day of following my doctors eating guidelines. I am a big breakast eater so I know that the oatmeal and banana I ate will not hold me very long! My mantra for today is "Don't think about chocolate"! LOL! This is gonna be hard but I KNOW I can do this :flowerforyou:

Good luck with your new guidelines!

Maybe you should try to think positive thoughts, like "Drink plenty of water today"! When you throw that don't think about something in there you are BOUND to think about it...

Its ok that the oatmeal won't hold you all morning. Since you are eating less at breakfast you can have a snack mid morning to help hold you until lunch. I try and eat a little bit every 3 hours or so to make sure I'm never starving. I'm more likely to overeat when Im starving.

After the first week you wont feel as hungry. Good luck!
  • Good morning. Today is my first day to join MFP too. I thought it is great to finally hold myself accountable for what I put in my body not only physically ( what I eat and drink) but mentally ( what I tell my self) and emotionally (what i feel about myself) too since I've already committed to being healthy and fit.

I too am a big breakfast lover. If you like eggs and bacon, try egg whites instead and turkey bacon. For me I like making it into an eggwhite omelet with spinach & broccoli and a little shredded chedder & m. jack cheese... hmmm that's what I'll have today. If you like chocolate, try whey protein chocolate flavor. You don't need to give up everything you just need to be creative.

Good luck to you and don't be so hard on yourself. Give yourself a great big hug for starting today.
