so i just brought hebrew nationial 97% fat free hotdogs. they are only 40 cals each! you guys have to try them, there acually really good. i just dont know what to do with them besides wrapping them in a piece of wholewheat bread with some mustard. I was thinking of putting them in spinach with onions. i know, sounds weird, but spinach and onions are really good together and onions are known to be eaten with hotdogs, so why not? lol do you guys have any ideas on what i can do with this 40 cal franks ?? please let me hear some x

Wrap them in reduced fat crescent rolls with a piece of fat free American cheese for low calorie pigs in a blanket.

Make a healthy, low fat cornbread with sour cream or Greek yogurt in place of the butter, and egg whites instead of the egg. Then slice the hotdogs in chunks and mix in cornbread mixture. Bake like normal for a healthy corn dog casserole. Or keep the hotdogs whole and lay flat to keep them more traditional.
  • i know the hungry girl cookbooks (and probably website) has quite a few recipes involving reduced fat hot dogs... i like the cornbread idea... i don't eat meat, but i have tofu ones... hmmmmmm.......

I love them also. we even found a super low fat chili dog sauce it is called Castleberrys American originals hot dog chilli sauce and its only 10 calories for 2 tablespoons and its yummy.
  • Tons of sauerkraut and mustard is my favorite way to eat a hotdog. I would try searching for a low-calorie hotdog recipe.:)

We eat them for a change of pace and when we are craving a hotdog, for such little calories there is a ton of sodium in each one, but just drink a lot of water

You could treat them like sausage. . .cut them up and fry them and put them in an egg white fritatta?

I've been thinking about getting hot dogs lately so I will look for those at the grocery store this week. I can deal with the sodium once in a while. But I plan to cut them up and throw them in some chili. its great that way.
