I am planning on doing the shred again. I have had the BEST results with the shred compared to he others; R30, BFBM, NMTZ, 6WK. I haven't worked out with them a lot though, guess it's because I don't really love them like I did with the Shred. I figured Why Fix aomwthing if its not broken:laugh: My first round I didnt track any calories and I followed the beginner model. So now I am going to do another round. Spending 20 days on each round. To keep myself from not being bored I am going to keep up with the advanced model and Jillian instead of the beginner.

I want to know those of you whos done Shred and had lost a decent amount of weight 10+ lbs. How'd you do it? Should i add more cardio like mix shred with BFBM or should I do it alone? I haven't lost any scale weight since starting my weight loss journey and I have 28 lbs to loose till I get to my mini goal weight. My first round I did shred only for about 2.5 mounths and went down a 1/2 a size, but I am feeling the inches trying to creep back on. Opinions, advice?

I started the 30 Day Shred on December 1st @ 149.5 pounds and today I weighed in @ 146. My (short-term) goal is to get to 144 by December 31st. I've been doing cardio as well and eating net calories of 1500-1700 a day.

I lost more inches than weight with 30DS. I would absolutely recommend some additional cardio, at least 3 times a week, and really get a good sweat on with it. 30DS is not sustained long enough or hard enough for most people to really see big losses, especially if you're somewhat fit to begin with.

Since it's your next round, try adding some weight (i.e. if you did it last time with 3 pounds, try 5 pound dumbbells on some of the circuits). This will help your strength and probably give you better inches lost results. Push hard this time and you'll see the changes you're looking for!

Actually I started out with 5 lbs, I have yet to master them just yet, but I am working on it

Depending on what you have your weight loss set at (1/2 lb per week, 1 lb per week) MFP automatically builds in your weight loss. 30 DS is something extra that you can do to also tone/lose, but if you haven't lost any weight you'll need to stick closely to logging your calories. For example, my sister-in-law has hers set at 1/2 lb per week and she's lost 15 lbs in 3 months. She recently started 30 day shred to tone up.

So if you aren't losing go back to logging your calories each and every day. You can also open your diary which will help accountability. Go to Settings > Diary Settings > Diary Sharing and change it to Public. This way others can see what you eat and offer help if you have trouble losing.

Thank you! My 1st round of shred I got great results even while eating anything I wanted. But this time I decided to change a few things and calorie tracking is one of them. I now track on a 1200 cal a dayy and plan to do BFBM and 30DS everyday allwoing ONE rest day a week

Sounds like you have a good plan. You have to track calories and try to lose weight that way as well as the exercise. I agree with everyone else that said I have lost more inches than weight but I am 18 days in and have lost around 6 inches and 7lbs. I track all calories. I am really only doing The Shred since I want to see the results from this work out.

I've mixed in 30 day shred with walking and jogging as well as a 1200 calorie diet. I am definitely seeing a 1 pound a week result in weight loss. I've liked mixing it up because whil I find jogging to be great cardio, I don't find for me that it feels like a total body workout. The 30 Ds definitely makes my entire body feel as if it has been targeted. I don't know that I would do well with only the 30 DS or trying o do just that every day. Not enough burn for me, and I love getting the walking and jogging in.

    Good luck!
  • I started the shred about a week and a half ago using 4kg weights. I have also been walking/jogging every second day and eating about 1200 calories per day. Last week I lost about 2 kg ( about 4lbs). I agree with hsk1019 that the shred is a great whole body workout but some extra cardio is needed to really see results.
