Smorgasbord!

So I went to my family Christmas party yesterday. I knew there would be a lot of food. I decided ahead of time to not overindulge. But I always do that and then flop. There were chips. I put some on a plate, and put a few back. I nibbled them slowly. Pace yourself, I told myself. Then I got a few more, and put some of those back. Ate slowly. I figured I was doing, OK. Then my sister showed up with little brownies that I called 'hockey pucks'. They were tiny. I had a few, then wondered how many cals were in them. Eek! 110 cals in EACH! No more of those!!! I'd have to run 30 minutes to work off one. The ultimate test was when my brother showed up with about 5 pizzas in his arms. And another sister was behind him with more! Oh, no way, I thought. I got two pieces, didn't eat the crusts, got another slice and only ate half of it. I thought my family would yell at me for being so wasteful, but I didn't care! I had a helping of macaroni salad, a slice of cake and a slice of my niece's yummy peanut butter pie. I then told my sisters, if you see me with any other food, take it away! They said ok. I didn't eat anything else, just diet soda and some water. The point? You know can't eat it all, so don't even try to! The reward? Knowing I did well. Well, better than I could have. Even some restraint is better than none.

I've got a Christmas Eve party with the step family, a Christmas morning breakfast with my mom's family, and Christmas dinner with my dad's family. It's going to be ugly lol. Anyway, tomorrow is another day. As you long as you enjoyed the party and get back on track no serious harm done:)
