I have a large range on my mp3 but I trend to Metallica. Needing some good ideas, trying to make a new gym playlist.

I listen to all music so tell me what gets you going.

Bump: I'm stuck on Metallica also(One, Sandman are on every list)! I too need to update. I have some rap (Batter Up by Nelly; Move B@#^& by Ludacris), usually things with lots of bass to lift to. My cool-down song is ALWAYS We Are the Champions by Queen.

The best songs I've found to run to are by They Might Be Giants (Til my head falls off, The Sun, Hey Hey). These ones have a great beat and if I run with it, I go at a much better pace. Although I have others that are the same pace, these ones just have the best rhythm.. or something.

    Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle
  • My thing lately is Matchbox 20's song "How Far We've Come" when I'm running - it's the perrrfect beat to my fast pace.

Jay-Z/Linkin Park's "Collision" album - any song. Beats, fast and LOUD! :D

  • I like all things New Jack Swing but for some reason, when I go to a step class, I really burn to Sweet Home Alabama All Summer Long! (go figure...) -- well, it's all up to the instructor.

"Freak Flag" or "She Parties" by Here Come the Mummies. I actually chose this username because I get my best exercise inspiration from hearing them play. =)

Anything by Rage of the Machine. I'm also loving the new Black Keys album. It's not all that "hard hitting" per se, but it gets you going.

I have a mix of techno & some good rock tracks on my MP3 player. The techno stuff goes well with running for me.

I enjoy Guns N' Roses for work outs not least because the songs are quite long on average and give me the impression that time is going a lot faster than it is, lol. The one song (or thing in general) that can make me enjoy running is Love Reign O'er Me by the Who, though.
