I'm confused as to if I should track my calories that I earn from every day stuff - I wear a pedometre & today I went for a walk with my daughter, walked around the shopping centre for a decent amount of time & did some extra walking to & from places. So at the moment I think my pedometre has about 12,000 steps & it has given me 379 calories earned. Sooooo. Do I count them on my diary as calories earned? Or not because it's 'incidental' exercise? I'm confused. Should I track them? :indifferent:

No, you do not log "every day stuff." That is what is calculated into the "activity level" that you chose when you signed up. Only log actual workout sessions.
  • I think you are supposed to track everything you do in a day. Just put the 12,000steps under exercise not to sure how tho. I know how to track other exercise just not how to track steps.Sorry Hope I was some help.
  • If 12,000 steps is a typical day for you, don't log it. If you're usually more sedentary than that, log it.

Thanks guys, I thought that probably would be the case. I just see a lot of other people tracking just about everything & I wondered what everyone else thought

It depends on your activity level.
If you are set at sedentary then you can log things that are over and above a regular day's activity for you. If someone usually sits at work or home or school all day and doesn't walk around or do much movement, then I think it is valid to account for some of that extra stuff.
If you are set at lightly active or active, then you've already allowed for a fair bit of extra movement, so you don't need to enter them separately.

Really though, you have to try it out and see how it works for you. If you are logging everything and not losing weight, then the set up isn't right for you and you need to tweak it a little. Changing activity settings and which activities you log is one way to adjust.
