I really need some good healthy smoothie recipes. I'm a diabetic and trying to get on a low fat diet too!

i just had this one come across my email ( havent tried it yet but it sounds amazing!)
Pumpkin Pie Smoothie
cal: 172
fat: 2g
carbs: 32g
sodium: 147mg
fiber: 5g
sugars 13.5g
protien: 6g ( you could even add some Whey protien powder to AMP it up some)
3/4 cup light vanilla soymilk
1/2 cup canned pure pumkin
1/4 cup cool whip Free ( thawed)
1 tbsp sugar-free calorie free vanilla syrup
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp brown sugar ( not packed)
1/8 tsp pumpkin pie spice ( or more for taste)
2 no-calorie sweetner packets ( splenda, truvia)
1 cup crushed ice or 5-8 ice cubes
2 tbsp fat free Reddi Whip
1/2 sheet ( 2 crackers) low-fat honey graham crackers, crushed
put everything MINUS the Reddi Wip and graham crackers to blender. Blend on high speed until "SMOOOOTH!" top with Redii whip and sprinkle on grahams.0 -
I keep this real simple.
I use frozen fruit - 1 cup
I'll also throw in some veggies - 1/2 cup
Add two cups milk - 8oz powdered milk
Blend - no added sugar or ANYTHING!
And I do not add any of that stuff people buy called "protein powder" - nobody really knows what's in that can of chemicals.
That's about 275 calories, 15 gms protein.
I eat some fish with it.0 -
This is my go-to smoothie, but it is probably high in sugar. You could modify it a bit though.
Minimum 1 cup spinach (I freeze the fresh stuff, easier to manage than the stuff you buy already frozen)
1/2 cup cranberries
1/2 cup raspberries
1 banana
1 cup rice or almond milk
scoop of protein powder if I have unflavoured stuff
often I add a 1/2 cup of blueberries as well.
Less sugary smoothie is:
1 cup or more of spinach
celery stalk or two
chopped up apple
juice of 1/2 a lemon and 1/2 a lime
ginger
banana
Oh and I freeze my fruits too, I like it better than adding ice.0 -
1 cup unsweetened Almond Milk
1 serving frozen strawberries
2 servings Mango/Peach Isopure Whey Protein
1 tbsp flax seed oil
2 tbsp extra virgin coconut oil (for a tropical taste.. very good to add when you're sick!)
Put all in the blender and blend. This has the added benefit of flax oil and coconut oil. To reduce calories, just omit the coconut oil.0
