i use boxing, i have taken some tae kwon do, a long time ago (i liked it for the intense kicking) and, some Aikido, although not very intense i like the concept of Aikido and would love to back in to it, but time and $ wont allow me right now. mainly i just do bag work ( heavy bag and speed bag) i haven't a real life sparring partner in many many years ...... anyone else out train in boxing and or martial arts out there ?

I've been boxing for a couple years now - mostly classes revolving around the heavy bag, but I sparred/trained for a couple weeks. Its such a great full-body workout! and a definite stress reliever! :laugh:0

I love kickboxing. Have been out of it for a while though but plan on getting back into it soon.0

I love boxing! My personal trainer was a boxer and that's how he trained me. I've also trained KJMS and Jiu Jitsu. It's a great way to stay in shape.0

I've been in martial arts for about 16 years -- traditional Japanese, Fitness Kickboxing, and more recently Muay Thai. I love it, and love to kick. There's no workout like pounding on a heavy bag and no better way to releive stress! No matter how AWFUL my day is, I feel like a new person when I leave the gym.0

Doing karate right now, but I did five years of judo and a smattering of jiu jitsu. I took one class each of capoeira and boxing though...those classes redefine intense0

I have done 3 years of Taekwondo in the past and really love it. And the days we worked out with bags were my favorite ones.
I just started Capoeira a couple of days ago!0 -
I do boxercise twice a week, its not quite proper boxing but still a great workout! I've always wanted to try kickboxing but nowhere near me does classes0

I endurance wrestle and dabble in different defensive fighting styles. They are some of the best ways to stay in shape, I agree. Try and get a friend to tag along to a workout session. Have him/her hold bags, etc for you and then switch it up to get them involved. I did this with a buddy of mine and he is now a full-blown UFC trainee.
Hope it helps!0 -
I did some kickboxing a few years back and loved it. It really kicked my butt but I felt great! It's a great total body workout!
I'd love to get back into it but I am unable to commit to a class due to shift work.0 -
I've been in taekwondo for nine years now. I love it! The sparring is definitely a great workout, but so exhausting! I'm thinking about taking up another martial art, perhaps judo. I'm not sure yet though. I think I want to get my black belt in taekwondo first.0
