Ok, Zumba kicked my butt two days ago and I'm still sore. Is ok to do another zumba workout tonight or should I wait till my muscles have relaxed a bit? I haven't worked out in years and my body knows it! Any tips would be appreciated

I always find it helpful to get on a stationary bike or rower after a workout that leaves me hurting like that, it helps to flush out any remaining lactic acid in the muscles. You usually want to leave at least a day in between working out the same muscle groups. If you haven't worked out much recently be careful how quickly you pick up the intensity...feeling that sore can leave you discouraged and actually slow down any progress. Good luck with everything :)

I find the more I exercise, the faster my muscles recover. You'll be sore for a few days, but keep working those muscles - go to Zumba tonight and you'll probably feel even better tomorrow.

I agree w/ JenThomas... if you're just a BIT sore, go for it! once you get into it you probably won't notice. I feel like I'm only sore once I've really STOPPED moving. once I'm going again I can't even tell.
  • Thanks everyone! I love the encouragement! I'm only a bit sore so I'm going for it. The good feeling afterwards of my accomplishments is too good to pass up. Good luck on your journey's and Merry Christmas!
