Hello everybody!
I'm from Magog, Quebec, Canada. I've joined MFP a few weeks ago but never took the time to introduce myself.
So here I am. I'm a 39 years old mom, with two teenagers and I finally decided that it was enough! But knew I would need help and tools to stay motivated along the way.
I always liked running, but never could find the time (I know, that's was an excuse!!)... Until October of this year. I decided to buy myself a gift... the gift of health... but I knew I was gonna need help, you know, to stay positive and have a visual guidance. So I bought myself a Polar watch. And started running... Very slowly at first, but after two months, I know run at 5 mi/h (which I think is very good), and did lost 4 pounds. I never had a scale in the house, and never wanted one, so I always took my waist, neck and hips measurement to have a general idea. But last week, I thought it could motivates me to have one so I could keep track of my weight. I know that muscles weights more than 'fat', but hey, that's a start!!!!
So that's my story. My starting weight was 156. I'm 5'2.5' (0.5 being very important for short people like me!! )'. My first goal is 135. But my real goal is 125. I know it's a long road, but I know it's possible. After all, I was at 125 before having kids !!
So I'm here to also give a hand to you all, and cry and laugh... For the better and the worst!!
(Sorry if there's any English mistakes in there, English not being my first language):blushing: .

Hi
Welcome! I've just finished my first 30 days on here! Very supportive x0 -
here are a few tips that I found to work for me:
1. Make MFP your home page
2. Log in EVERYDAY, read the message boards post.. Keep your mind actively thinking about it.
3. Don't try to change too much at once, Implement 1 change every week or so. Little tweeks over time seem to work best or at least better than butt load of change all at once
4. Always be honest. We al fall on our way to the top, be honest, no one is judging you here... we all support eachother
5. Keep trying new things until you find what works for you (It took me a while to find my plan and it works great for me but I wouldn't push it on anyone else)
6. Its easier to lift weights than the burdens of carrying weight.
7. take it one day at a time.
8. Have a cheat day or meal, where you eat what you want
9. Try to talk to yourself as if you are talking to your child or loved one. Often times the thing we need most is to be a better friend to ourselves.
