Does anyone know how many calories you burn in a day breastfeeding?

    my daughter allows 500 calories a day for breast feeding

    You burn up to 3000 calories breastfeeding. :)

    is there a formula somewhere that you can use to determine exactly how many calories one burns in a day?

    Calories burned in a day doesn't seem like an exact science. It's mostly a guessing game and every person is different. Sorry that doesn't help much. :(

    Hi im a breasteeding consultant, you need to eat approx 2000 calories a day and should burn around 500 providing you drink lots of water too

    250-500 calories, and a LOT of water!

    How can you know how many calories she needs to eat when you don't know her height, weight, or activity level?
