I think having at least some idea what you're going to eat on a particular day makes staying on track easier.0

I always plan my week's meals and workouts. Planning is key to staying on track.0

i the beginning i planned out everything the night before. i usually put in over my calorie goals, because i knew i would sometimes take something off.
now i kinda pre-log everything, especially on days that i work. just because i pack my lunch and snacks the night before.0 -
I plan if I'm going out to eat... I panic if I'm at a restaurant otherwise, because they usually don't have the calorie counts on the menu! I like to look ahead at the menu online before I go.
Other than that I just go with the flow... because other than a restaurants, I usually have access to something (packaging, MFP food log, etc) in order check calories as I go.0 -
I mostly just go through the day and log, although for the past few days I've half-planned the day's meals.0

I plan on sundays the food i will eat mon to wed and the i do it again on wed, gives a me a chance to change my mind about what i want later in the week. I stick to 95% of it and leave some cals spare as a buffer on the day.
Workouts are always scheduled or i would not go to the gym and i would make excuses. On my cardio days i just find a WOD or a HIIT i fancy and go with it.0 -
I never plan ahead as I find that too tedious. Plus, while I try to make sure I eat at least 4-5 times during the day, preferably 6, in order to keep my metabolism stoked, my appetite varies from day-to-day and I try to listen to that and eat accordingly. Since I zig-zag my calories and pay more attention to my weekly target than a daily target, this works well for me. In other words, some days I'm just not hungry and I will eat less and be under my calories but, other days, I might be ravenous and eat over. It evens out. Since it's kind of hard to plan for that, I don't try.
I do make sure that my fridge and pantry are filled with the proper food choices so that it's easy to eat a small snack or a large meal that is nutritious to properly fuel my body.0 -
I plan my dinners way in advance (I normally have about 2 months worth of dinners planned). Weekly I input that weeks dinners before I go to the grocery store. I then have a few options for breakfast/lunch that I can choose from on a daily basis. Same with snacks. Those get logged before I eat them.0

I like to plan my meals out otherwise I always go over my calories -_- which I did yesterday. Grr today I didn't plan anything either so I am a little worried but I think it is better to plan and portion the night before so you do stay in calorie range0

I like to plan out my day but its for a silly reason, I like to plan on meals I will look forward to for dinner that way I will not want to eat something I shouldn't because I am excited for dinner.0
