24yr old looking for support :)

Hi there.
I joined MFP a couple months ago, and have just started to get into the community aspect of it. So far I've just been "lurking"(haha), but have been so impressed with all the positive support I want IN!
I'm 24, and have struggled with weight for as long as I can remember. I was always confident as a teen, although never really happy. (Woe is me, cue the violins...) Well I am to the point where I know I need to FIX it, or FORGET it, and I'm all about the fixing.
I am 5'5, and currently weigh 184lbs. This is the heaviest weight of my life. For months I managed to ignore that my clothes were getting tighter, that no matter how dressed up I got I just didn't FEEL good about myself. It wasn't until I actually stepped on the scale 6 weeks ago and saw that I was over 190lbs that it really hit me.
After a brief period of feeling disgusted and ashamed, I coerced myself into figuring out exactly how my weight had gotten so out of control. I have officially decided that being unhappy with my body is a choice, and I not only need to change my physical habits, but my emotional habits as well.
I would love to touch base with some similar-minded people and get some insight and support. Any help is absolutely welcome, but I would especially love to hear from young women with similar body types. (Apples to Apples, if you will).
Again, I've been so impressed with the Community on MFP, it is truly inspiring. I find myself scrolling through the Success Stories, and can't wait until I can post one!

Hi Bella I'm hoping that is your name. lol
I'm a 19 year old girl who is 5'7" and I weigh 143 lbs. I joined this site months ago but never really logged on much and I've decided that now is as good a time as any to really get started! Like you I've always struggled with my weight but more at the opposite end. I think that I really need to start getting fit and maybe that would help me not worry about a number on a scale so much. So while I'm not of the same body type as you, I'm looking to lose a little weight and get healthy! If you'd like to friend me (or whatever it's called) we can provide inspiration to each other and that would be awesome! Cheers!0
