Any food that has been "manufactured". Whole foods are fruit, vegtables, meat, fish, beans, whole grains. Processed food could include slightly more innocent things as white rice, bread, pasta - to the really processed of deli meat, sugar cereal, boxed potatos, rice "side dishes", hamburger helper, canned pasta, frozen dinners, really anything in a pouch, or box!0

Why didn't you just google it? Lol.....my understanding of processed foods are things that have been modified and ran through a factory (things like cheez-its, oreos, poptarts, special k bars, doritos)......basically junk foods, but also things like white bread and bagels. If it's in its natural state, like carrots or shredded wheat *not frosted, then it's not processed.0

Well everything gets "processed" to adhere to FDA and safety regulations. Even meat you buy at your grocery store that gets cut up in front of you went through a "cleansing process" by probably being exposed to ammonia.
But if it comes from a box or a can, it is probably processed with additives and sugar to make it taste good.
