you could, but your body will look flabby and soft even if you are a lower weight.
exercise+healthy eating=success0 -
Can you please name a light exercise that don't need to do much ? becasue i never have time!!!0

Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
Park further away from the store instead of looking for a close space.
Instead of sitting down in your chair like normal, squat down until your butt is an inch off the chair, then stand back up. Repeat a couple times. Do this every time you sit down, assuming others aren't around to give you funny looks.
Try to find the time.
Weight loss aside, exercise improves your heart and lung condition. It creates an overall healthier body, which may not mean much when you are young, but can be a lifesaver when you get older. :flowerforyou:0 -
bottom line is, this is a site for changing the way we live and changing our attitude about our health. IMHO you can't do that half way pitchaya.
Exercise is part of a healthy lifestyle, as well as eating right, and understanding how we became overweight in the first place.
Not having enough time isn't a good enough answer. If you want this to work, you really need to find the time. I hope this doesn't sound too harsh, it's not meant to be, but I'm not going to lie to you, it takes a certain amount of comittment to do this for real. Not liking exercise is, for lack of a better term, a bit of a cop out. There's gotta be something out there that's fun for you.
best luck to you,

I love to put on my mp3 player and just dance around my house. I set goal of 5 songs, or 10 songs, figure 10 songs is about a 1/2 hour of movement. I always forget to shut the shades, my neighbors I'm sure think I'm nuts! lol

No not really. If you don't exercise you get flabby. You make the choice that is best for you. Flab or fit? I hate to exercise also, but I have to take my doggies out for walks at least every other day so even if I don't care for it I do it. Actually walking is probably one of the best things you can do for yourself. It is easy, and you can meet friends and do a group walk, join a group of people who walk daily, go to the school track etc. There are women that I know who lost weight just walking 30 minutes a day. They didn't change any thing else. So think what you could accomplish if you in coroperate a good eating plan along with a walking plan. You could easily loose unwanted weight, health up you cardio vascular system and possiby by the end of the year you could be your slim self the person you really already are. So, what do you want really really want for yourself?:flowerforyou: You need to ask yourself what you want then you need to implement it to your life. Good luck, don't whine, go for it!:grumble:0

I didn't want to exercise either because I didn't want to sweat my perm out  . But I got over it and I can still go 3 months w/o getting a perm; it didn't make that much of a difference. Now I'm the idiot walking around walmart at top speeds just to get a little cardio in.
I use walk away the pounds by Leslie sansone. It is great dvd. Just find something you like to do. Remember you don't have to do your 30 minutes in one shot. You can break it up into 10 minute increments. It works just as well that way.:flowerforyou:0 -
I have been dieting and running a calorie deficit for several months. Mostly because of this, I have lost 40 some pounds. If I did it by dieting alone that would probably be the only benefit I would gain.
My blood pressure is much better. My resting pulse is now in the 50's. I sleep better, I feel better, I have much (much MUCH) more energy. I'm more attractive, more attracted, more interested in so many things. All of these benefits are a result of the exercise. I would probably have achieved most of these benefits without worryoing about the eating at all.
When I reach my goal weight I will probably quit logging food (as long as I'm within 5 pounds of goal,,, first chance of a slide and I'll be back on) - but as long as I'm able I don't think I'll ever give up my exercise. It works, I'm a believer.
The "no time" thing is a cop out that I used for years myself. What's your favorite TV show? I like my morning local news. I watch the gals on there, catch up on the local happenings, get my weather report and see if I'm on the motorcycle or in the car today, yadda yadda yadda... I have a $300 Walmart elliptical trainer parked in front of the li'l TV in the den, and I stomp my legs off while watching my news. If I wasn't on the elliptoy I'd be sitting on my butt drinking coffee. Total cost in time? Zero...
So what's your favorite TV show? Jeopardy? ( I like Jeopardy)... What's stopping you from doing some cali's while Alex quizzes eggheads? Like Idol? Why not do a little step workout to the beat of the tunes the contestants sing? Maybe do some shadow boxing when Simon opens his pie-hole? There's lotsa time, we just waste it.
Good luck either way,,, keep us posted.0 -

Have you ever heard people mention 'runners high'? Exercise releases endorphins, your bods feel good hormones, which is why there are so many people once they start exercising find themselves 'addicted' to it. Give it 2 weeks of something every day, a quick walk, up and down a flight of stairs 10 times, jog in place for 15 minutes..anything where you are moving and your heartrate is up. Give it the 2 weeks, if you still hate it,,no loss. My guess is you will stop hating it so much, actually may come to like it! And make the time, no excuses. I worked, had a 3 month old and a deployed husband, I still walked 5 x week. Stuck the kid in a pack, hooked up the dogs and went. You could make time to watch a favorite show every week on TV, this is more important. Good luck!0

With all due respect, you seem to believe you can get through this with putting in minimal effort.
That's not going to happen.
You say you've tried to diet and that hasn't worked out for you.
You say you don't like to exercise because you 'don't have time'.
You need to set a goal, and go through with it. None of this half-assed "I wanna lose weight without working at it".
This mentality is disgusting and is all too common in today's society.
Do you really want to be on that boat?
It may be difficult at first, but you'll come to love the exercises that you do. You'll love to feel that you can get a good work out, and your body can go through with it. You'll love knowing that you've improved your physical health. You'll love looking better.
You don't realize it, but your body wants it.
Honest to God you make my generation look terrible.
You can do it. Start slow, stick to a schedule. Don't let set-backs stop your overall goal. It will take time. Realize that. And start.0 -
I echo what everyone else has said - ya gotta have both. Trying to lose weight without putting in the effort is a recipe for disaster. You will lose a few pounds, then because you lack discipline, you will quit, or give up and gain it back, plus 5 lbs. Do that often enough and you really screw up your metabolism, you lose a bunch of time that you will never get back, and you wind up weighing, oh, I don't know - 480 pounds! If ya want to know where I got that number, look at my ticker.
Start slow, do something fun, lots of good suggestions on this thread. One thing no body mentioned, exercise releases endorphins, which will make you feel great! You won't need to say "Help me" cuz you will be helping yourself! Get up and dance girl!0 -
Well said Kristi, you rock honey - :happy:0

I hated exercise but now....I am totally addicted....I have to convinve myself to not exercise to have a rest day....
Start small - do a 10 exercise video, talk a walk with your dog or your honey, dance in your living room....I love the ME time, turn up my Ipod and GO! Exercise doesn't have to be boring - it should be something you enjoy.0
