I have lost about 5lbs maybe more since I can't tell because I am so bloated I feel 9 months pregnant again... (TOM) smh.. Well is it just me or is this time of the month the hardest to stay motivated seems like..... I feel sluggish, a lot more tired, less energy and more and more hungry... plus bloated! What helps any of you?

I usually take an extra rest day and don't push myself as hard, if I try to I usually just get disappointed and fatigued. I haven't figured out how to combat the bloated state yet :laugh:0

I tell myself that PMS/TOM is not a disease that puts the fork full of food in my mouth. Take it one day at a time. Make the best choices you can and just keep your eye on the prize/finish line.0

LOVE THIS! Its definitely frustrating...mind also has tummy issues...BLECH. I actually try to push myself to exercise more during that to release endorphins and help sweat out some extra water weight....can't say that it always works, but its what I try to do.0 -

^^ Agreed!!! When you feel the desire to eat that piece of cake, just say no and go workout instead! That's what I have to do!0 -
I sleep more and also drink more alcohol-- anything to lessen the pain.
What motivates me is knowing that exercising makes cramps better. Of course, sometimes they're so debilitating that exercise is impossible, but I usually have no appetite at that stage so it balances out.
Bloating can be a motivator as well. PMS bloating in particular feels like fat, which is scary, so you might be driven to exercise more and eat less.0 -
I guess to me my period is just another day. I suck it up and continue what I've been doing the rest of the month. Sure I may get a little campy and crabby, I just take some Tylenol, have a cup of coffee, drink tons of water and go on with my day.0

Yes! The pms is what makes me bloated and gain a few pounds even when I am being good, and tom should be here in four days so it is bad right now. But I know as soon as it is over I will lose the extra pounds.0
