Defeating depression

I just want to know if there is anyone else out there really struggling with trying to loose weight and fighting depression. It seems that as things pile up the harder it gets and the faster the weight comes back on...Is it just me or is this a normal thing?!

I have had a very stressful year. Hang in there, it will all get better, use the health goals as motivation. I know it is really hard0

I no longer struggle with depression and anxiety as much as I did when I was younger. But I definitely struggle with it more than most people that I know. So I can kind of relate. Since I started working on losing weight and getting healthy last spring, I have found that exercise helps me to stay more even, mood-wise. I am also eating healthier (except for the past few weeks! don't look at my food diary lol) than I used to, and I really do think there's a connection between healthier eating, exercise, and alleviating the symptoms of depression. I don't know if that really helps...but try to focus on the positive changes you can make, and think about what you can do (proactively) to stave off depression, if possible.
PS It sounds like you are a very busy woman (8 kids, and work, and school!!!! checked out your profile) but if your husband is supportive and you can carve out a little time for yourself, I think it will help you feel better :flowerforyou:0 -
when I get really down, I go to the gym. I had to lay off for the last 2 days due to knee injury and it has been terrible. I have been crying.... usually when I get upset I work out until I feel better. Usually about 1 to 1.5 hours of cardio and then weights. Those endorphins are worth it!0

I am a very busy woman. The depression is really situational. My husband has been so supportive and actually my rock. I just wanted to know that I wasn't crazy for feeling like my diet is second.0
