Crockpot Hot Buttered Rum Recipe
Ingredients
• 2 cups brown sugar
• 1/2 cup butter
• 1 pinch salt
• 2 quarts hot water
• 3 cinnamon sticks
• 6 whole cloves
• 2 cups rum
• 1 cup sweetened whipped cream
• ground nutmeg to taste
Directions
1. Combine the brown sugar, butter, salt and hot water in 5 quart slow cooker. Add cinnamon sticks and cloves. Cover and cook on Low for 5 hours. Stir in rum.
2. Ladle from the slow cooker into mugs, and top with whipped cream and a dusting of nutmeg.

What type of rum do you use?
Inexpensive Spiced Rum will work. The rum just supplies the kick. The flavor is all in the spices.0 -
If you divide this whole thing into 12 servings, which should equate to about a cup each, it's:
333 cals, 36 carbs, 11 gm fat per serving, according to the recipe index on MFP.
Really not much worse than some of the hot coffee drinks I have from Starbucks on occasion.0 -

Hot Buttered Yum Chex® Mix
4 cups Honey Nut Chex® cereal
2 cups Cinnamon Chex® cereal
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons honey
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon rum flavoring
2 cups miniature marshmallows
1. In large microwavable bowl, place cereals. In 2-cup microwavable measuring cup, microwave butter, brown sugar and honey uncovered on High 2 minutes, stirring after 1 minute, until mixture is bubbly. Stir in spices and rum flavoring. Pour over cereal mixture, stirring until coated.
2. Microwave uncovered on High 3 minutes, stirring and scraping bowl after every minute.
3. Cool slightly; about 5 minutes. Stir in marshmallows. Spread on waxed paper. Store in airtight container0
