I am so so very proud myself - With some training on the weekends I was able to complete my first 100 mile bike ride in beautiful northern California! It was a killer with tons of climbing and i'll probably be recovering until the end of July but it was definitely worth it. I think my weight loss and strength training, which i've been able to achieve thanks to a large part to MFP, helped me up those hills. I wore my heart monitor and burned just over 4000 calories! so needless to say i feasted for dinner. Just wanted to share this with all of you- I never would have been able to do this six months ago so here's to working hard and the reaping the rewards:drinker:

IT was in Humbolt county outside Eureka. Its called Tour of the Unknown Coast and was started about 28 years ago- goes through Avenue of the Giants, Redwood State Park down to Highway One and back up to Ferndale- Absolutely beautiful! Are you from No. Cal?
