Have you tried Hot Yoga???? I did it a few years ago. I only go for a short time because it is kind of pricey. I am doing lots of different work outs, dumbells, spin, step, zumba, running, hiking and now with some extra money I stashed away and a deal at the Hot Yoga studio I marched in there today and signed up for 2 months!!!!
Wow it felt soooooooo good, I almost want to go back tonight!!!! I was hoping to burn more calories then I did...but aaaahhhh I feel fantastic
I Challenge you to try a new form of exercise in 2012!!!!! I have about 15 more pounds to lose....My next new thing might be rock climbing

I wouldnt mind trying it..
Although i imagine it will be quite tense like p90x yoga x..
And im still really bad at that, constantly falling over and stuff.
I woulnt want to go to one in fear of embarrasing myself or falling on someone lol.0 -
I have gone 3 times this week. OMG I just love it...not sure what I will do when my 2 months is up!!! Yesterday was a crazy busy day as I'm sure it was for everyone during this time of year! I needed to get my work out in....so I decided to keep pushing, computer work, lists, wrapping etc and go to an 8:30 class. I was the only one!!!!! So I had a private lesson!!!!
Fun Times....Merry Christmas0 -

That is      !0 -
I had a gift certificate for one month unlimited use of the yoga studio. The certificate sat in my desk for almost a year when I finally used it. I agree....hot yoga is fabulous and I feel so good. I've been doing it 3 days a week for 3 weeks and plan on buying another month. I noticed that the calories burned for one hour of yoga in MFP database is really off. It say about 120 but I did some research and found that an hour of hot yoga burns about 500 calories for 60 minutes. BONUS!0

I like (not love, but like) regular Yoga, I've never done Bikram though, I'm afraid the heat would make me sick.0

I wish I could afford it...maybe I'll put that on my Christmas list....for myself!!!0

The only research that would be accurate is buying a good HRM and tracking your own calories burned.
Website guestimates are ALWAYS way off.
I have never tried Hot Yoga -- but the class is right after zumba and when the heat comes on during our cool down, I want to run out of the room! I can't imagine intentionally going in there would be fun in any way!0 -
In my 8 years of practice, I've found Hot Vinyasa (Power Flow) to be my favorite classes!! When I'm in there calories are the last thing on my mind... I love to sweat and rid my body of toxins and get deeper into my stretches! I feel like a whole new person when I'm out! Love that 105 degree room!0

Yes - this is a total crack up!!!!!!!!!!
I have been using my HRM and burning on average 400 calories. The studio I am going to offers power flow which is faster and should burn more. They also have a sculp class I can't wait to take. I am still losing so the calorie burn is important to me... I am finding I just LOVE it and even though I have 2 months to go I am already trying to figure out how I can afford to keep it in my life. Good thing I played the lottery :laugh:0
