Just wondering because I do interval strength training for an hour and I input all the weight exercises I did, sets, reps, weights and it does NOT show how many calories you burned, or for that matter allow you to enter in the 60 mins of exercise accomplished... seems like you should be able to account for those calories...
thanks
thanks

I record mine in the cardio section per HRM...0

I noticed that last night too and was irritated. strength training can burn a decent amount of calories ! decent enough to cover the recovery snack I'm supposed to have after. grrr.0

If you look under the cardiovascular section, there's an entry for strength and weight training where it counts the calories burned...don't ask me why it doesn't just long calories for both!0

I guess it's because the purpose of strength training is not burning calories but building muscle for which you need to have enough fuel and nutrients. And the amount of calorie you burn varies greatly based on your muscle mass and the resistance you build so it's hard to calculate an average? Probably, maybe.0

I don't have a HRM yet, asked the "Hubby-Clause" for one for christmas lol.0

The strength training section is to record reps, weights sets etc. for record keeping.0

In the Cardio Section - "Strength training (weight lifting..weight training)"0

You log it under the cardio section under strength training and then input the time.0

Thanks everyone, I just don't like how it is generalized when you mix in HIIT it should be worth more. Sigh, oh well, I guess I gotta get that HRM soon!! lol0

LOL @Hubby-Claus (no 'e')
Anyway, the burn for strength training on here SUCKS. But, I did read somewhere (maybe on here) that it is also inaccurate with a HRM. I still want to get one, just to see.0 -

I agree with this0 -
okay.. the more muscle someone has the more calories they burn
this makes it extremely hard to calculate. With a HRM you will get a much more accurate reading but you need to buy a decent one. The one I have actually needs your body fat% and so on to be inputed, this helps to determine what your lean body mass is and should give you a greater reading.
The strength training one on here usually says I burn around 200 via HRM i burn close 800-1000 calories.
Good luck0 -
Figure 100 calories per 20-30mins.0
