Weekly Rest Days

Do you think it is necessary to have a rest day every week? Some weeks I don't feel like I need a day off and others I need at least 2 days off.

I don't think it's necessary.... better to pay attention to how you feel, my opinion. Same with eating, to a point. Some days I'm just not hungry when I wake up... so I IF (intermittent fast). Your body doesn't run based on "numbers" like we think in our minds, it's more complicated than that... so I say do what it's telling you to do!0

Of course you need rest days. Helps your body to recuperate and also helps to resist plateaus... that's in my experience at least.0

No it is not necessary. You can take 'easy' days instead of rest days.0

Depends on the activity. If I am strength training and don't feel like I need a rest day than I am not pushing myself as hard as I should. On the same note, all of the muscle building takes place during rest periods, not during workouts.

I used to work out 7 days a week but my hubby had a trainer for a bit and he said I should have at least one day a week because I need to rest my muscles. It was hard to do but now I always have Wednesday off.0

Thanks everyone! I know it's important to have rest days but just wasn't sure how often I should!0
