What I've Learned on this journey...

I've been on this journey before, fairly new to this site, and I'd like to share some things I've learned along the way (I lost 50 pounds, and put it back on unfortunately, but NOT letting that stop me)..today I started fresh, refreshing start, more positive and focused, there here are some pointers to POINT out that I figured out on this journey and I thought I'd share:
-- this WL Journey is not rocket science and yet it's not simple - it's HARD, it's HEARTWRENCHINGLY hard, and it's not for the weak of heart...you can't go in this journey thinking of goals (the big goals) right away but KNOW that it's a ONE STEP, ONE DAY and ONE BREATHE at a time process.
--There's no magic pill - nope sorry none. It's either you are going to do this or you aren't. There's not a pill to take or some 'easier' way, and no one else can do this for you, you have to want it BAD Enough and taste it bad enough to go out and get it.
-- The Journey will push you down MANY MANY times, it's getting back up that counts. You will get sucker punched in the stomach, you will cry, you will scream and you will realize this journey is your enemy, UNTIL it becomes your friend. Again you have to want it SO BAD that you go after your journey - it does not come after you - in fact it wants you off of it, but you have to push every day to keep at the journey, and WIN EVERY TIME...how do you win? Don't give completely into temptation, but if you do you jump back on THAT NEXT SECOND, not tomorrow, not next week but that next second.
-- Moderation - eat what you want but in moderation. Have a SQUARE of chocolate, not the whole bar, eat a 1/2 cup of ice cream not the whole container - you get it...it'll satisfy your every need.
-- you don't have to finish everything on your plate - take the leftovers home. You will enjoy it again either at the next meal or the next day.
-- Don't give up.
-- ENJOY and EMBRACE THE JOURNEY -- this is where I screwed up the begininig - I never "embraced" it, I just went and moved on and exercised and ate the food, but never ever enjoyed and embraced everything I was doing for me, or what I was doing to make the journey embraceable...
-- This is not a physical only journey...this is a mental, emotional and spiritual journey. There's nothing else I can say about this except once you are on this journey you will know exactly what I am talking about.
-- There will people who tell you they "get it", that they UNDERSTAND what this journey is all about, but some of these people don't understand - they don't get that this "food thing" is an addiction, a TRUE TRUE addiction that can't just be stopped - it's one of the hardest addictions to have, we can't just "give it up" or else we die. Some people TOTALLY GET IT, some people DON'T.
-- Have Supportive Friends...some of the people on here ARE and possibly WILL be more supportive than your "real friends" out in the world...these are the people that GET IT.
-- Love yourself every single day through this journey, afterall you are doing this journey for YOURSELF!
That's pretty much what this journey is all about...all this and more
Feel free to add me if you want, I'm looking forward to getting friends who are not only supportive, but positive as well.

I agree with everything you said! It's a realistic way of looking at things. Some people don't have realistic expectations or goals and it makes me sad. I know that I am human, I will mess up, sometimes i need a treat and I might fall off the wagon a time or two but its okay. No one is perfect but as long as I don't let it hurt me but encourage me to keep going that's all that counts!0

Aw thank you all! Just added you all back
You will slip up - no one is perfect, and you will realize that a slip up is the best thing to do on this journey, it gives you insight on what you did wrong, why you did it wrong and what you need to do to fix it, that's why I always say embrace the whole journey; not just the "perfect day" parts of it...but everything about it. I fell off this wagon so many times, I should have broken a leg, but you get up, and you move on...:)
