30 Day Shred question

Hi all, I'm new to MFP and saw lots of people with great results and talking about 30ds, so I've got the dvd yay!

I know I will be very committed when I start with it, but my biggest concern is my upper arms, even though I have lost a lot of weight so far (picture under my profile) my upper arms stay the same size no matter what I do :(

Will 30ds make my upper arms smaller or bigger?

If its going to get bigger :( I would rather stick with Zumba, although I really would love to do 30ds...

Fat loss is what's going to make it smaller.

The 30DS is not going to make you build enough muscle to make them larger, especially if you're eating at a calorie deficit.
  • Thank you! Yay so tomorrow I will start with it!

Another question sorry, should I use heavy or light weights?

    Sorry, just saw your post.

    I would suggest light weights.

I'm used to lifting heavier, but when I do the 30DS, I only use 3 or 5lb weights. :)
  • My upper arms are big also and It seems to be the last place the weight is coming off! I found that when I did 30DS they definitely shrunk! Before 30DS they were all squishy when you feel them and now you can feel muscle :D

    Have fun!

My arms looked great after 30DS, I have proper definition for the first time, you will love the results. Don't forget to take before and after pics and please measure yourself before and after the 30 days, most people see big inch losses rather than lb losses. Stick with it and you will be very happy! :drinker:
  • @ hush7hush thanx for your reply :-)

@ lolollama, yes that's exactly how it seems for me! Thanx for the info. I rather go with muscle than with squishy lol!

@ missy 1975 Thank you! I take my measurements every monday, and before and after pics every wednesday, maybe its to much but I compare them over a month, and inches lost is much more noticeable, although I can't wait to see it on my arms :-D
