Sorry lads, no pictures.....
(TMI WARNING!!!!)
I have large breasts and I have breastfed 4 children so I'm used to changes with them but what I have never experienced is this current soreness and infection that I have now. I never really exercised like this before (jumping jacks etc.) and I'm hoping this is the cause rather than something more sinister.
The pain is only in my left breast, behind the nipple and after some manipulation yesterday produced around 4 tablespoons of creamy green/brown discharge that had no smell. The other breast also yeilded some but less than a teaspoon. The left breast is now even more tender. Does anyone have any input in regards to this.
Apologies to those who were eating before they read this.

If you are breastfeeding, you probably just have an infection. I had a cousin (also very well endowed) who got an infection like that while breastfeeding. Go to the doctor. You probably need meds.0

Oh please.... do go to the doctor as soon as you can get an appointment to be seen. Keep us updated on your progress. Praying for you to have a quick recovery & a complete healing!! :flowerforyou:0

+1 to seeing a doctor asap! We all need to be really cautious with our health so that we can catch things before they're incurable!!0

Go to a doc (as everyone else has said!) But I will say it again! GO! They will likely try to express more and send it for culture. They may send you for a breast ultrasound. Most nipple discharge isn't a sign of something bad BUT--- your health should never be a gamble. Good luck and keep us posted!!0

My advice is no different than the others. Definitely go see a doctor! We can't mess around with infections and you might need an antibiotic. I hope they get you cleared up quickly!

I would go see a doctor. You can never tell if it is serious or not and better to be safe than sorry. I did find this info for you though.
Color isn't usually helpful in deciding if the discharge is normal or abnormal. Both abnormal and normal nipple discharge can be clear, yellow, white, or green in color.
Normal nipple discharge more commonly occurs in both nipples and is often released when the nipples are compressed or squeezed. Some women who are concerned about breast secretions may actually cause it to worsen. They do this by repeatedly squeezing their nipples to check for nipple discharge. In these instances, leaving the nipples alone for a while may help the condition to improve.
Based on your medical evaluation, your doctor will determine whether your nipple discharge is normal (physiologic) or abnormal (pathologic). Even if your doctor determines your breast discharge is abnormal, keep in mind that most pathological conditions that cause nipple discharge are not serious and are easily treated.
Stimulation. Nipples may secrete fluid when they are stimulated or squeezed. Normal nipple discharge may also occur when your nipples are repeatedly chafed by your bra or during vigorous physical exercise, such as jogging.0 -
Thank you all so much for taking the time to respond to my post. I went to see the doctor and have been given some antibiotics and much needed reassurance. Now all I need to do is tale a week off my jumping jacks and jump rope. Not how I expected to kick off the new year but a billion times better than it could have been.

That's a relief!0

When you are better & resume your jumping jacks....sounds like you need a better supporting bra all that jostling around...MUST support the "girls"0

Yes, you likely have mastitis. Easy to deal with, but you need to see a doc and get an antibiotic.0

I Would See Your Doctor ASAP. It May Be Normal, But I May NOt !0

Definitely get a better bra. I bought Moving Comfort bras from Amazon.com (cheaper to get them that way than through a sporting goods store). I'm a DD, and they really help (I wear them even when not exercising because they are comfortable!).0 -
Go see a doctor - green/brown discharge is not normal. Get that checked out right away!0

Glad you got to the doc for some meds and reassurance!!! Keep up the good work and next week you can be back to your jump rope. I also have large breast and wear a very restricted bra when I work out, they don't move at all. I bought it at a specialist shop.0

Champion also makes a wonderfully supportive sports bra at a reasonable price. I am also "full figured" and have used their sports bra for running and aerobic exercise. NO BOUNCE! (Now I know how it feels to be "normal size') :laugh:0

SEE YOUR DOCTOR RIGHT AWAY!
edited coment, glad you went to the dr. In the old days it was not uncommon to lose nursing mothers to infections obtained during nursing.0 -
glad to hear you went to the doc and that its nothing too serious! take care!0

I hope the antibiotics cure it! I once had mastitis & it was very very painful ~~ good luck0
