HRM Question

I've had issues with my HRM over the past few days. I'll be working out and it will read that my heart rate has suddenly dropped drastically even though I've not changed the intensity of my workout. I've tried readjusting the chest strap to make sure that it's secure and in place, but it still keeps happening. My HRM has worked like a dream in the past, I stopped using it for about 3 months, and now seems to be acting wonky. Does anyone else have this issue? Do you guys know what it might be and how to fix it?

Not sure what sort of HRM you have, but for my Polar, I have to replace the battery in the chest strap about every 1.5 years. Also, you sometimes need to replace the chest strap itself--the sensor things in the fabric wear out over time. If you do have a Polar, you can mail it in to their service center or take it to an authorized repair shop if there's one nearby. It costs about $12 for a new battery and I think $8 for a new strap.0

Awesome! Thank you, guys! I'll start with the battery. Hopefully that will help. If not I'll look into replacing the strap. Thank you for your help!0
