My way of ensuring I will be in a bikini this year

Every year since I can remember I would say next year I shall be in a bikini, that year never came

I even ordered one a few years back, was crazy enough to wear it in public, bumps and clumps and all!

These days I wear my bikini every morning while jumping on the trampoline, I do it in front of the mirror.

Sounds crazy, but hopefully will work

One I get used to seeing myself in a bikini
Come bikini season, my look won't be a surprise
Every day I am reminded just how far I have to go to rock that bikini

I tried to visualize myself on the beach and still háve a hard time doing so, wearing it every day reminds me of my goal and encourages me to take positive steps to get that hard body!

This took courage to post, please read it in the spirit it was posted.

First kudos for posting this and wearing that bikini! I am in your boat I have ordered bikinis swearing up and down that I will be walking around the beach like I own it! Well it is time for me to put boots to *kitten*'s and make 2012 the year of hotness! You can add me as friend and we can keep each other going!

This made me smile in relief that it isnt just me and wishful thinking. I've said bikini every year since I was 13. Plus I've always been the chubbiest friend so swimsuit shopping with those skinny minis was torture. This is the year...WE CAN DO IT!

That's a great idea to motivate yourself! I look at myself right now, and can't believe that I had the guts (or blindness!) to wear a bikini when I was chubtastic! Im starting a four month bathing suit challenge in a few days, along with c25k, and ripped in 30, so hopefully I can keep my eating in check, and rock a hot body this summer!!!!!

Thanks to four kids and abdominal surgery, I'll never get to wear a bikini :grumble: (I haven't worn one since I was 14 and that was 30 years ago ) but this year, I plan to ENJOY swimsuit shopping for the first time ever!!! I can't wait to buy one that's not solid black

I enjoyed reading your post. I understand the courage and motivation it took to write it and wanted to let you know that the confidence factor is NOT restricted to women.

I am 57 years old and finally got my waistline down to 32" again along with my weight under control. Still I will not wear a bathing suit in public as I have a age roll on the sides that would take extreme carb deficiencies to get rid of. I also don't go shirtless as it takes way too much sun exposure for me to look healthy. My wife kids me about it all of the time.

Kudos to you for setting your goals publicly - I am sure you will achieve them.
  • I loved this post. I have certainly made that same claim to myself year after year after year.

This past week, my husband finally said that he needs to lose some weight and that he wants to do it together. I am so excited. Every time I try to get into control, he brings around way too many temptations for my level of will power. Now that we're in this together, I will have better success than past years. I am sure of it.

Look out beach, here I come!!!!!!!!!!

A 32 inch waist is awesome, I say go shirtless, at our age, we should be proud of the badges we have earned in our lifetime, we live once, in 100 years no one will be scarred by seeing you in your bathing suit or care. Let' s live our lives by our rules.

But I understand, self confidence is the hardest to have, I pray we all walk proud as a peacock, regardless of the scales.
