MFP exercise diary?

I’m starting to second guess the exercise calculator. I do not think it’s accurate or even close. Does anyone here feel the same way? Can anyone recommend a website that I can compare with MFP’s calculator results?

Yeah.... it really over inflates the figures. At best, I saw someone's recommendation to use about 85% of the figure. There are tons of calorie burning calculator sites.... I tend to average 3 different sources, using MFP, my HRM, and another source or the gym equipment (also notoriously inaccurate, I"m afraid) and take the average figure. But, if you use the MFP figures, would recommend you don't eat all of them back....0

You are correct. In some areas it's way high, and others it's way low. Do a search for HRM or Heart rate Monitor in these message boards and get one. Best money I ever spent. And so far I'm pleased with the numbers. Lee0

Oh man does it over estimate. I was doing turbo fire and putting it in as turbo jam/kickboxing for a long time and it would give me like 600-700 calories for a 45 min workout. I got a bodybugg and was brought back down to earth with about 400 calories max with the 45 min workout. My friend tried to warn me but I didn't listen lol.0

yeah I hardly ever add my exercise on here. I'll add walking if anything. I hate how it tells me I still have 700 calories left over when I know that I don't!
I too would like to know a more accurate site..0 -
Honestly, if you can afford a bodybugg or something similar, I would recommend it. I generally log my food here but go by the difference of what my bugg says I burned and what this site says I consumed. My activity level is different everyday (especially now that I am on break and have been sitting on the computer wayyyy more lol) so as long as I have a deficit according to the bugg I know I am ok without having to change things around on here all the time.0
