Hey everyone! My name is Tina, and my headline says it all! I miss the old me. Not just the way I used to look, but the personality that I had with that look. And this was not long ago. This was three years ago! How in the world did I put on this much weight in that length of time? Well, I've finally had enough and finally have the mindset that I'm tired of it. I'm soooooo ready to do this thing. So, best of luck to you all. Let's hang in there and do this and live happier, healthier lives. If I can be of encouragement to any of you, please drop me a line. The way I see it, we're all in this together! Good luck!

I agree we are all in this together, and no one understands quite like someone else in our own shoes! I guess that really is the worst part, the memories of our thinner selves. I have joined because I am looking for the support and encouragement I dont receive @ home. You dont understand the challenge unless you have been down this long journey. Good luck and I know you can succeed!0

Hey
I just wanted to say HELLO and good luck
I held on to 30 pounds for 3 years....
I've kept the weight off for one year and don't even remember the old me!
The first few days/weeks will be the toughest..get all the garbage out of the house and stay busy!
Eating well and working out will pay off!

Thanks for the reply! I agree totally....unless you have/had a weight problem, there is no way you can relate to the things that someone with one goes through. I know that I can do this. For me, it is 100% mind over matter. I have to get it in my head that I'm going to do this, and I'm finally at that point. And, it's not rocket science. I know exactly what I need to do in order to lose the weight. I need to get off my lazy butt and move, and stop the insane eating! One of my biggest problems is the TV. I know this sounds crazy, but I'll put it out there anyway. If we can't be honest here, where can we? There are certain shows that I watch on TV that actually make me want to eat! It's like, if I'm not eating while I'm watching "The Golden Girls" or something on the "Food Network", then the program is not as enjoyable. And, I have to stop keeping things at my house that "tempt" me. I have literally gotten out of bed because I know that there is a piece of cheesecake in the fridge, or a bag of Doritos in the cabinet. Now, this is kind of difficult because Kevin (my fiance') is a "nibbler". And, how can I justify not keeping any of the things he so loves because of MY problem? He's willing to help me in any way he can, but in my mind it's not fair. And, the whole world is not going to put away their delicious snacks just because Tina is on a diet. It really is a lifestyle change, and one that I'm going to have to face, deal with, and live. So, thank you for letting me vent and ramble. It really is nice to chat with someone who totally understands and gets me, rather than friends who say, "Oh, you don't need to lose weight," or "you're fine just the way you are! We love you". They mean well, but talking me into going ahead and getting the triple scooped chocolate cone is not helping me, but hurting me. So, it's up to me and only me. Good luck in your quest, too! You can do this, too! If you need to vent or anything, feel free to hit me up! I'm a great listener and can give honest critiques and criticisms! Good luck!0
