Workout Plan for using a Mini Stepper

Got a mini stepper for Christmas, but I am unsure how to begin my exercise routine with it. I tried it for a few minutes and my legs muscles almost felt like they seized up. Of course I know this is because I am very overwright. Anyone have any tips or workout plans to help build my tolerance to it, but at the same time not overworking me?

I had one of those years ago and enjoyed it quite a lot and it helped me to keep my horse back riding muscles going when I couldn't ride. No expert here, but I would suggest that you see how long you can go until you can't talk like in a normal conversation. Then rest until you get your breath back. Then see if you can do the same amount of time as your first "set", then rest again. The goal would be to very gradually expand the amount of time you can go until needing to get your conversational breathe back
ps: I needed to put a mat, like a shower no slip mat, under mine to keep it from moving around0
