Is juicing bad for me?

I'm not a breakfast person. It tends to make me feel sick. Instead of skipping the meal all together I've started having 8-10 ounce glasses of fresh fruit juice every morning. It consists of 4 different fruits. Unfortunately I've been hearing that it's too much sugar, not enough of the fiber, and that it will hinder my weight loss. Is this true? Does any one have any juicing advice?

If you are not a breakfast person, don't force yourself. You can lose weight eating once a day, twice a day, six or more times a day! The most important thing is eat when you are hungry, to manage your hunger the best way you know how.0

I happen to feel like a rock star when I drink vegetable juice (so much energy!)
Favorite mix: Kale, celery, cucumber, spinach and parsley.0 -
Add in some veggies. I like this recipe :
1 bunch of kale
1 cucumber
1 thumb size piece of ginger
2 granny smith apples
4 celery sticks
1/2 lemon0 -
I do believe too much sugar (especially fruit juice) can hinder your weight loss...try switching to mostly veggie juice. I love to juice when I have time and the combination I really like is romaine, cucumber (so refreshing!!), celery, apple, & lemon.0

If you're not a breakfast person, don't be a breakfast person. Save the calories for the rest of your meals when you want to eat. No need to force calories into you at a certain time if you don't want them. The body doesn't really care when you eat them, it just cares about how many calories you have. Heck, the body doesn't differentiate different days, so it's kind of silly to think you need to eat a meal at a certain time, isn't it?
Your body functions 24/7, it doesn't pay attention to meal times. Just like your car doesn't care if you put gas in it at a particular time. It runs on the fuel it's given, whenever it gets it. Just make sure your total calories are enough, the rest takes care of itself.
All that said, if you like drinking juice in the morning, account for the calories, and don't have any metabolic issues like diabetes, then the amount of sugar doesn't matter, go ahead and drink it. Again, as long as you exercise, and get the right amount of calories per day, that's all that really matters. Any other weight loss "rules" people talk about are just overcomplicating what really is, a simple concept.0 -
If you are drinking something store bought.. yah not good at all. Like everyone else was saying, put something together from scratch! That way you know exactly what's going into it and you can get the nutrition you need out of it. Definately don't skip breakfast though! It's the most important meal of the day!0

No it isn't. People didn't eat breakfast for several hundred thousand years and lived just fine. "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day" is just marketing by breakfast cereal companies, not any real science or need.0 -

Slightly disagree with this point!!! Breakfast has been proven to be significant to weight loss!! It can also reduce drop in blood sugars throughout the day! IHowever I dont mean cereals etc. I agree with you about that!
Id be more of a fan of a veggie smoothie, I have one for breakfast every day, which includes both fruit and vegetables. If you dont like breakfast have natural yoghurt or even some nuts to get the metabolism going for the day?0 -
Correlation does not equal causation. Controlled studies that used the exact same meal plans and macro and calorie counts, only variating between one group eating breakfast while the other group skipped breakfast has shown no effect on weight loss or health. Meal timing, and meal numbers, don't matter. That's why intermittent fasting works so well.0
