My daughter loves her Polar FT4. I went to buy one and found the Polar FT7 on sale at ****'s so I got that one. Have been using it for 3 days and like it a lot.

Pretty sure the sports direct one doesn't show calories burned. Like many cheaper watches, including low-end polar watches, they don't show/calculate calories burned.

Have a look at the Sunnto range.

LOVE my Polar FT7 so another vote for it here! Plus, the Polar customer service was stellar when I dealt with them.

I've just bought this, they have it in store at the Tesco Extra stores, so far it's great and the chest strap is much more comfortable than I expected. I was going to spend £70 on a Polar FT70 till I found this.

For 18 euros, I wouldn't really trust it that much.

Your better off going with a Polar.. FT4 or FT7. It's a trusted brand, and works well.
  • another vote here for Tesco. I got their "puls-tech" hrm watch. It has 3 zones, pluse you can set one of your own, shows Current HR, Average HR and records fat and calorie burns. £20. job done!!

that Tesco one looks pretty good. When they say its waterproof do they mean you can measure calories when you swim??

  • I've swam with the watch, but never tried wearing the hrm strap in the pool. I've had it under the tap a few times with no issues....
  • Hi all,

Bought the kelly holmes one since i posted this. loving the simplicity of it and seems to work great.
  • Does anyone know if the Kelly Holmes chest strap is compatible with other monitors? For example I have a Garmin Edge and use a Wattbike regularly. I'm thinking probably not, but thought I would ask those that actually own one as there isn't a great deal of info on the box or on the web site.
