Okay, so... here's the deal. Basically, when I started this site like a month ago, I was ecstatic. I lost five lbs in the first two weeks. And that was all fine; I was exercising and actually feeling a sort of improvement overall. Aaaanyway... May 1st comes around, and I'm moving, and I have no internet for a bit, and I sort of fall out of the habit of using this site. And now it's not really the same for me, and I'm not feeling the same inspiration and motivation I used to. And I guess what I'm looking for is someone to help me out here, sorta, or something. I know that I'm the one who needs to do the work in the long run, but a push always helps.

Hi,
You know change is always hard. Getting motivated to bring that change about can be even harder. The thing is once you get past the little hurdles you just want to do better. I never wanted to exercise now that I have been doing it for a while I want to do it all the time. I feel better when I do, and that's motivating. It's all attitude really, we have to change our own reality. That can be frustrating but in the end it is really freeing because we actually have the ability to make those changes, we just need to tap into it. Just take it in little steps, and eventually you will find yourself leaping!
You can do it!
Good luck

I fall out a bit with May coming too; I was thinking, ok, I can do this, who needs help...I did. I was eating like the "old me" and I felt miserable (again).
I think you need to remember why did you come here the first place. Also, just log the food for a day or two, even if you have to do it on paper. It makes me sick to see I ate twice as much as I needed on a day I didn't feel motivated. It motivates a heck out of me when I see "if every day were like today, you'd weight 458462365926 lb in 5 weeks"!
I have to remind myself what I'm doing to my body when I listen to the "little voice" inside me telling me I deserve this food or that after a hard day. When I keep going on with the healthy changes, I DO feel better, not just my body, but my mind, my self-esteem and my pride.
There are so many things you can't change in life. But to be healthy, to take care of yourself, to prove you can do it- you can.
So come back, go for it, and next time, if I will be the one needing it, please motivate me!!!0 -
Get someone to be accountable to. Online, in person, on the phone, whatever. One thing people don't realize is that there are cycles you will go thru - super motivated, super excited, then unmotivated, unexcited, it's too much work, etc. So to get thru the rough spots you need someone to be accountable to. That's why this online forum is helpful.
The PP is right - log, even if you write it down on paper, You can always enter it in the computer later. But write it down so you see WHAT you're putting in your body. If you struggle with emotional or stress eating, it might also be good to log how you're feeling before you start eating.0 -
I started using this site in January of this year... just because i wanted to be lazy and have someone (MFP) tell me what calories I was eating and burning.... I had decided it was time to lose half a stone.... So I logged everything I eat and exercised..... and to my horror I was eating very little and exercising loads ..... but still I GAINED weight!!!! how?!?!?
But I continued.....after a month of disappointment and trying to eat more slowly things turned themselves around and the weight started to disappear.... I couldn't have done it by myself.....
Logging ur calories and exercise, as well as how ur feeling and where u r emotionally does help....
Keep going... things do turn around eventually... u just need to find ur beginning place and go from there....
