Danced non-stop for 15 minute (with Just dance on my Xbox). I am sweating like in hell and...only 80something calories!?!? How's that possible?
Entered it under "dancing"...
Help me

MFP calculations may be (probably are) inaccurate. It doesn't weigh in how hard you actually worked. Could be more, and it could be less. I would suggest investing in a HRM for more accurate calculations.
  • Would HRM stand for Heart Rate Monitor?

i have the wii zumba and it has a belt and the remote and tells you how many calories you burnt. if i put it under dance on here it would be half as much.

My daughter and partner have just been doing this and were bouncing round waving their arms like they were attached to a windmill. It looks pretty vigorous! I'll have a go tomorrow when it's a bit quieter... :-) (I have zero coordination)

well seeing that if you just sat on the couch you'd burn about 1 calorie per minute ...and an 80 calorie total burn is about 5 cals perminute in 15 minutes. How much arm movement is included in your dance? I suppose if you ran at full sprint you might but 8-10 cals per minute....

So 80 cals sounds about right if you are lower in weight - alot of this depends on how much you weigh!
  • This is why I like YourShape: Fitness for the Kinect. Tells you how many calories you burn on the screen as you're working out. :3

Though otherwise I would definitely go with what the others are saying, HRM seems like a good investment for times when the calories and such aren't given to you right there.

I was sweating way more than when I go out for a run or a vigorous walk... and yes, it looked like I was attached to a windmill! LOL
Oh now I really want YourShape Fitness for Kinect, sounds awesome.
    Thanks
