Best Cardio?

I can't do running (my body hates it, and honestly I do too)...
I can do a fast walk, I can do skipping rope, I can do exercise bike...any other suggestions? I really just need cardio at this point to burn away excess body fat...trying to keep it basic if possible.
I am doing weights too to keep up muscle mass...
Anything else come to mind?

Elliptical? rOWING MACHINE? Jazzercise! Anything you like to do that gets the blood circulating and the heart a thumping!0

zumba is fun and cardio filled0

zumba is great- I try to go 3 times a week0

Elliptical was always one of my faves, but I gave it up for running (which I am not a HUGE fan of either....but I burn the most cals that way...and I'm learning to enjoy it) or else if you have access to a treadmill, try a fast walk at an incline. I would do 3.8 miles per hour at a 14 or 15 incline (which is as high as the treadmills go I think). Its really good burn, and does amazing things to your butt!0

Anything that gets your heartrate up for an extended time and that you enjoy enough to actually DO. :-)0

some kind of dancing video? hip hop abs or booty ballet?0

Just so you know, its the calorie deficit that causes weight loss. Cardiovascular training is for increasing endurance.
That said, I prefer no rest weight lifting complexes for cardio. Extremely intense burns.0 -

Everything I've read lately points to intervals. They are the best cardio to boost your metabolism and burn fat. I hate running too, but I can run for 3 minutes and walk for 1 minute for 40 minutes and it goes by quick. You can also run for 1 minute, then walk for 1 minute and go anywhere from 15 minutes to 30 or more for a really good work out. There are so many different ways you can do intervals that you can do something a little different every time and keep it not so boring.0

I am not a runner either and was doing elliptical at the gym but got bored. I do DVDs at home that incorporate cardio intervals with strength training. Love the variety.0

zumba, zumba, zumba. if you have the wii, i just got the zumba 2, it shows you how many calories burnt because of the remote and has a belt too. best thing i found is they have workouts, 20, 45, and 60, but you can also customize your routine. i have created short ones and long ones. its great. highly suggest it. i dont even realize how long ive been doing it because it just goes by so quickly and you have so much fun. hope you find something that works for you.0

Elliptical and spinning and cycling!
Also, group classes...if available...are AWESOME!0 -
I got a HRM for Christmas and tested it out this week. Wore it to zumba on Monday -- 398 calories in 45 minutes. Wore it to spin on Tuesday -- 410 calories in 50 minutes. Wore to to TurboKick (kickboxing) this morning -- 502 calories in 60 min. Of the three, Turbo is by far the most fun for me, so it wins! I haven't worn it running yet, but will do that probably next week.0

Theres no "best" cardio option out there, the best type of cardio is the type you enjoy doing the most. Like you I hate running I dont enjoy it at all so for me I stick with either the elliptical or rowing machine, I LOVE those. Cardio is all about getting your heart pumping and your blood moving at your target heart rate so whatever you enjoy doing that accomplishes these goals is the best for you0

I love to swim! I can torch up to 500 cals in just 45 minutes. Its easy on the joints. & keep up with the weight training! Muscle burns fat, even when you're just being lazy :-)
Good luck!0 -

The best cardio is the ONE that you will do.
I just came back on the thread to say this. Happy you beat me to it!0 -
The best kind of cardio is the kind you like. I like anything with martial arts so I get dvds with that.0

Juggling a soccer ball is great cardio. At the fitness center, I prefer the elliptical machine.0
