new to MFP - college-age support group?

Hey y'all,
I'm new to MFP; I had be using CalorieCount.com, but encountered that inevitable lack in motivation in logging food, especially when it got to the complicated dishes that required listing a couple-dozen ingredients...Going to try harder on MFP! Not trying to lose weight really (maybe 5lbs?), just hoping to stay within my daily allowance and consider what I'm eating every day just a little bit more. College is kind of a tough place to eat healthily (about to enter the second half of my senior year), so wouldn't mind some peers on here who are interested in tackling the daily temptations of ordering pizza, chugging beers, etc., with me! Not looking to date/meet up with folks, just a friendly online support network

Yeah, I'm about to enter the second half of my junior year. College food makes for a rough diet. This is my first time using a calories counter and I'm discovering how tough it is.0

Hey hows it going? Im headed into spring semester of senior year and hoping to get housing for the upcoming semester. Not sure how much use I can be helping with the food from the dining halls but if your just looking for some overall support then I can help with that lol0

It's really tough to lose weight in college. I've done it and have never lost more than 13 pounds in a semester. I've found that cooking on my own is the best way to do it though. I also take advantage of my gym on campus. Try adding A LOT of veggies to your meals. The frozen ones aren't too high in price and really bullk up meals to make you feel fuller. I also buy Tyson chicken breasts (already frozen). There are about 10 in a bag for about $6.50 at Walmart. Having those around really helps when I'm in need of some protein. Hope that helps!
Anyone know of a college support group on here? Is there a forum somewhere?0 -
Hey, feel free to add me! I started MFP during the end of my junior year. I'm headed into my spring semester of senior year and have been able to lose close to 70 lbs. It's been helpful with the support on here and with friends nearby going the journey with me. Hope you're able to find the same success!!0

I joined one of the groups for college students (just search under "groups" in the menu up top). Found that option right after posting my request for a college group..seems I should be more observant!0

Also, not sure if y'all's schools offer this (hehe y'all's), but I've enrolled for a ballet class every semester. 3x a week, 75 minutes a class. They offer lots of these little classes, and it's nice that I'm enrolled for it, so i'm obligated to go and can't slack off and forget about it.
Cooking's definitely big...I live in an on-campus apartment so I have that luxury of cooking for myself. Would love some good, easy recipes if you know of some!0 -
I just graduated two weeks ago, but always went up and down w/ the 4.5 years I was in college - feel free to add me, I totally know how hard it is to keep on track living the college lifestyle!0

Hi, I'm Mallory! I'm new to the MFP scene. I'll be entering the second half of my junior year soon; it's quite tough to maintain a healthy lifestyle in college. I hope to get healthier with MFP's help along with help from peers! Feel free to add me!0
