if it is planter facibla bla make sure you are strecthing your calf muscle 4 or 5 times a day especially before bed time. I would bicycle and keep your tip toes on the pedals this will help your feet get better. Also get some good insoles dr.S for plantar blabbbitatis as you can tell I can't spell. Best of health!!0

I've got flat feet and possibly gout. My feet are jacked. DON'T GIVE UP! I think I've used this as an excuse for years and I've packed on pounds because of it. My feet are so messed up that I can't even use the elliptical machine without pain the next day.
Water jogging is great except that I need to wear orthotics and they don't fit into swim shoes.
I switched to an upright stationary bicycle. I hate recumbent bikes because they're terrible on the back and tail bone. Also, the recumbent position cuts off circulation to my nether region if I stay in the same position too long. Prickly, numb jumblies are no fun.
Nowadays, I have a laptop hooked into my TV and I'm watching HULU while doing cardio. I don't even care if it rains.0 -
If you have access to a pool, swimming is great cardio exercise. If it's just your heel that is a problem, you should still be able to use an exercise (or regular) bike by using the ball of your foot to pedal. A rowing machine might be an option too, if you can use only the ball or your foot.0

thank you for all the good ideas.. whoever recommended stretching the calf muscle you are a genius .... I remember how uncomfortable was last time I had this and did nothing for the whole week.... I will look into joining a pool0

Thanks for this post!!! I literally just got back from the podiatrist. I was diagnosed with Planters fasciitis in June and thought by doing the stretches (off line) and wearing the “sock” at night that it would go away. It didn’t. The more I exercised the worse it got. On Tuesday I did 46 minutes on my treadmill and could hardly walk on it Wednesday (thus the appointment today). I got a cortisone shot (guess I have it pretty bad) and they molded me for orthotics… time will tell. BUT, he told me it could be 3+ months after the orthotics before I should resume any exercise that is hard on my feet. And when I do use the treadmill I am supposed to avoid the incline… bummer.
Best of luck. I literally feel your pain.0 -
Rowing machine? There are also machines at my gym that look like rope climbing (the rope goes around in a loop) that might work too. I think there is one that is an arm-pedaled bike as well.0

Anything you do w/ your arms is about 30% greater cardio. Shadow boxing is GREAT - 30 seconds and I'm puffing.
You can use hand weights to raise them, sit ups, push ups, bicycle in the air - and any of the water sports are great.
Staying in water deep enough so you're not standing is even better - you can use your legs and arms at the same time.
Lots of great advice I saw here - isn't MFP awesome!0
