Today we buried my FIL's dad and his wife finally came up to me and said she just realized who I was because she was used to the big me. LUCKILY I took that as a compliment. I knew what she meant.

That certainly is a compliment...people get in situations and don't say the "right" things but, then say what exactly they think and feel. Congratulations on your new status.0
