After reading on here I know I meed a HRM and I want a pedometer. Thing is they all seem really expensive. Can anyone suggest one that isn't too much but still works? Thanks

Everyone will tell you that Polar is the best and I agree but they are pricey and I can't afford one so I purchased a New Balance HRM with chest strap and i got my from ebay for cheap. They are regularly around 60 and I got mine Brand new for 26 plus 5 for shipping... I love mine and it works well for what I do  good luck to you

Well an HRM and a Pedometer are two different things.. and generally the pedometer is a lot cheaper than the HRM.

Like the poster above me said, the most recommended HRM brand is Polar.. and with good reason. It's easy to use, reliable and pretty accurate if set up correctly. The cheapest one that they have that counts calories is the FT4. Next step up with a few more features is the FT7. Both can be found on amazon for between 60 and 80 dollars.

Pedometers though I think can be found for around 10 dollars in places like Walmart. You'll have to look, but I really don't think that they are that expensive to purchase.
