What is eating your exercise calories all about? I thought the calories burned had to out weight the calories eaten. I thought in order to lose weight you had to burn off more calories than you take in. Am I wrong?

MFP already has a deficit built in depending on what your goals are.
I would not recommend eating less than 1500 or so NET calories...
Eating them will speed up metabolism and means that rather than when not eating them you may lose muscle mass, eating at least half will ensure you are burning fat and minimal muscle loss.

you still will be even if you eat your exercise calories. My maintenance calories are around 1800 a day. If I start eating only 1300 calories I'll be burning an extra 500 calories a day. times that by 7 and you have 3500cals burned a week. 3500calories=1 lb. if you burn 200 cals a day and eat them you'll still be burning 500cals a day because of deficit from your maintenance calories.
  • You Guys are awesome. Thank you so much. I actually feel better now because I have bad Pms going on and lately after exercising, I get really hungry. After a good work out, who wants to eat? So I make a healthy snack but I feel bad because I really want to lose this weight. Now I don't feel bad though. I know I'm actually helping myself in the end. Thank you so much!!!
