Funny things you notice now

Anyone have some weird qualities they notice now that they are on this healthier lifestyle?

For me, I spend WAY more time thinking about food and preparing food. To me, that sounds weird considering I am trying to lose weight. You would think it would be that way if I was gaining weight. But I am constantly thinking about my meals and planning ahead so I have less chances of slipping up. I am constantly cutting up and pre-preparing food so it is easy to grab on the go.

Also, I have noticed that I have WAY more dishes now than I had when I was eating unhealthy. It's almost like I eat more. But all healthier things of course. And of course, measuring everything. I'm also preparing my food and eating less processed, out of the box food.

Not complaining at all these actually are leading to a better and healthier me!

We have way more dishes, not because we eat more, but because we're eating at HOME more so I'm cooking and using them :)

I agree. I also notice how other people eat around me - especially at work when there is something tocelebrate.

I've noticed the way my body feels different when exercising - I have a higher awareness of each limb and muscle as they are moving, and I find it easier to target certain muscles when I'm doing different type of strength training moves. I used to feel pretty detached from my legs (problem area!) but recently I've noticed how strong they are getting!
  • I read the labels in the store. I'll choose 35 calorie bread over 100 calorie bread, etc. It's amazing how people just grab whatever off the grocery shelves (like I used to do).

I feel bad when I don't get up to the gym everyday. I used to laugh when people would say stuff like that.

This! I used to come home most nights and not do much of anything but now if I don't get a workout in each day - even just a short walk - I feel like I'm letting my body down.

When you Eat mindlessly, you gain weight. Mindful eating always translates into healthier eating. Makes total sense!
  • I've been at this for 5 days now and am constantly thinking of what/when can I eat again. I was a mindless junk food eater....once we've been at this a while I pray the prepping of foods/menus will become second nature and we will soon be able to focus on other things:)
