I just wrote a big blog piece on this here http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/yesiamaduck/view/new-years-a-year-in-review-music-edition-includes-spotify-links-184922 and because it took me a long time to write and stuff I thought I'd use it as the crutch of a discussion!
So here is my list for those not wanting to wade threw the billions upon billions of words I wrote down, but I would like it if you gave it a cheeky look!

So there we go, took me ages (a whole year LOL) to come up with that list... here is a spotify (I love spotify) playlist of some of the best songs from all the album (bottom to top (30 - 1), in that order) http://open.spotify.com/user/yesiamaduck/playlist/4IlMuB8PBUKtddrDq1hwWk
But enough! The best thing about the internet and music is to share... post yours! I want to discover more before I end up chest sdeep in 2012 albums

1. Wasting Light - Foo Fighters
2. The Hunter - Mastodon
3. TH1RT3EN - Megadeth
4. The Fall - Gorillaz
5. Endgame - Rise Against0 -
Based upon the rest of your list, I'm surprised that TV on the Radio's Nine Types of Light didn't make the cut. Check out the whole album [and an associated video for each] here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8B5GP0AiQMc&ob=av3e
Other albums that I liked include, in no particular order:
- So Beautiful Or So What, Paul Simon
- In the Mountain in the Cloud, Portugal. the Man
- Gutter Rainbows, Talib Kweli
- Pint of Blood, Jolie Holland
There were others, probably. But I don't think of 2011 as a particularly great year for music.

2011 wasn't that great, this to 30 is weaker then ones I would've made in the past but hey ho! I don't know TV On The Radio don't do it for me anymore which is a shame because Return To Cookie Mountain is a bloody awesome album... it all went a bit wrong at Dear Science.0
