Can you run with a cold?

Yes you can :). I didn't want to run today cuz of a runny nose and constant coughing but I ate over my goal and had a rest+cheat day yesterday. Well I didn't think I'd get far but I finished 9.4 miles tonight though at first it sucked.... by the end of the first 5 though I didn't feel any weakness at all and was almost tempted to run longer than my goal but I knew it could lead to an even worst sickness so I stopped. So if you have a cold don't be afraid to run!

You bet. And sometimes the increased body temp from the run can act like a fever and completely kick the virus out of your system.

I can confirm what you say - my cold has decreased significantly with the coughing practically gone and no more runny nose! Who knew running is a cure for the cold

My first ever run was a measly mile, and it wasnt at quarter past six in the morning either! Im now a regular distance runner. Good job.

it depends on the type of cold. If its a head-cold with a stuffy nose, then its fine to run if you feel up to it.
If its a chesty cold/chest infection with a bad cough, then its best to rest

    Good for you! That's great!

And good idea to take the dog with you. I also run in the dark and a dog would be nice to have with me. Instead I've got my pepper spray!
