We all on a daily basis run into little hurdles.
For me especially over christmas it's all of the food and drink i'm expected to have at family gatherings.
Also my fiance suffers from depression and I am a mostly recovered depressed person. That can mean an inability to act - to get out of bed when we should, to go to the gym etc. I try to cheer him up but sometimes I feel fairly helpless because nothing really works. It makes our place feel a bit ridiculously gloomy and unmotivated at times. That is really silly because overall I think we're both fairly lucky people.
I wondering how other people deal with these situations. What do you do when you're faced with a massive xmas dinner plus all the work xmas dinners and new years celebrations etc?
What do you do when your spouse wants to keep you up late watching a movie - but you have to get to bed early to avoid sleeping in as late as they do so you can exercise before work?
What do you do when you want to put your fitness and health high on your priority list and exercise but your spouse thinks you're nuts for feeling crappy after 4 days without exercise and wants you to do other things instead?
Sometimes peer pressure really sabotages my efforts but if i'm realistic everyone has this to some degree. There are people (some of you maybe) out there who don't let it get to them - what are your secrets! I need to have a plan to deal with these situations and toughen up!

One day at a time - don't be too hard on yourself, some people don't even try, don't even set goals in the first place - your wayy ahead of them no matter what!0

Thanks Sezza :-) I guess expecting to not run into little hurdles is a bit unrealistic. Ironically after my little winge the one who is usually more depressed than me at home cheered ME up. That just makes me feel like a dill!0
