So im looking into doing the P90X.
Do you do the full 90 days or have rest days.
What equipment will i need. is it good for a big weight loss. (75lb)

First, good luck! Next, if you follow the plan you rest on sundays or stretch, which I recommend. Now equipment needed is the following

    Pull up bar( yup)
    bowflex weight sets for p90x
    yoga block and a mat
    HRM
    towel

P90x is a lot of fun and is a great work out but if you want to loose 75lbs you going to need to make some major lifestyle changes and choices. You will not loose 75lbs on p90x in 90 days, well you could but you really really do not want to. I am in the same boat though I want to lose about that much and it will take me roughly 8 months of loosing 2lbs per week. So I would suggest to use p90x and aim for a goal of two lbs per week goal. You can use excel for tracking the progress.

P90X is a great workout, and I'm glad I did it, but--my experience--I went from losing 6 lbs/month doing Turbo Jam to losing 2 lbs/ month doing P90X. I do love the strength and overall fitness I gained while doing it, and I plan to do another round, but not until I get to my goal weight.

If big weight loss is your TOP priority, you might think about starting with something like Turbo Jam that will give you faster weight loss in the first few months and then switch to P90X when you've lost enough so that you don't mind slowing down for a while.
