I dont want to set goals that are too high right now!
I am planning:
3 gym sessions a week with weights
a walk every morning with the dogs. I will admit I can be very lazy about this and constantly washing mud from walls, doors, the dogs, me kind of puts me off.
I have an office job so sedentary but do a lot when home, ie cleaning, hoovering etc.
All constructive comments are welcome!

Sounds okay to me, are you going to do any aerobic stuff such as cycle, running, step machine at the gym too?0 -
I have a session written for me which includes aerobic activity so yes. I tend to do the bike and push myself on that, as the dog walks have already "conditioned" my body!0

I think anything you add to your day is going to help. You've set a goal and it's not too aggressive! Successful thoughts your way.0

It sounds like you have a great plan. Since you sit all day at work you might want to do a 10 minute walk at lunch just to move a little bit midday, if its workable for you. I don't know what kind of weather you have, where your office is, etc.0

Sounds ideal, seriously.
I am only going to train three times per week, so I damn well hope it will work LOL0 -

Thank you! I try not to sit all day, I do the tea round often, go to the printer often, tend to go talk to people rather than email or ping them.....................
Thank you all for your comments!0 -

Hi, I started gently and still going 1 year on. We all need cardio vascular excercise and even if we do 30 minutes movement a day ( includes walking the dog, hoovering washing the car etc as long as its all done reasonably sprightly) we will maintain a healthy heart. So to improve then your 30 x 3 sessions at the gym are ideal but vary the activities to benefit your body and to avoid boredom. Gym personel are usually helpful so dont be shy to ask for demonstrations of different machines.
I was a couch potato and have now lost 3 stone plus enjoy jogging with a group of women over 50 and we are all entered for the Edinburgh Marathon in May. Could take me a few days though, lol. My family and grandchildren are so proud of me. We all need support to change our lives, go for it , good luck, vicky0 -
