    Stay at home DAD.

I do every job under the sun. Plus get occasional "comments" from people who just don't get it. Great stress, greater reward.
    What do you mean, comments?

Comments I've gotten when out in public with the girls:
    "Better you than me."
    "Can't find a job?"
"I wish MY husband spent time with our kids."
"Your wife must be enjoying the break"
Or, "Is your wife at home sleeping right now?"
    "Your wife taught you well!"
"I'd NEVER let my husband out with our kids."
"So your wife is okay with this?"
"Do you want me to watch your kids for you while you shop?" (A total stranger!!!)
    "You're a brave man."

Once, at a Costco, an older couple came up and looked at the girls (they were 3,1, and 1 at the time). We were starting to leave when the man said, "Better you than me, buddy." (A VERY common male response). As we walked away, I heard, WHACK! "OW! I meant that I couldn't do that myself!" That made for a good chuckle.

I must in good conscience, give credit to my kids. They're angels in public, and have always made me look like a better father than I actually am. I couldn't imagine going all the places I've gone with them, if they were difficult. There've been some moments - meltdowns here and there, and some sprints through the grocery, while I had a full and heavy cart. WORKOUT! Still, they've always made it look easy.

They are angels in public because they are well parented! Keep it up! :)

It's 2012, but sexism is alive and well in the world. That just makes me sad.

Or maybe they are jealous. I have to admit I kind of am. I'd love to be able to stay home with kids, that would be the most rewarding job (and the hardest one!) I can think of.
